NoraSens technology can be used for the new generation of smart sensors in automotive & transportation industry/area, as well as for human detection and seat occupation in everyday life, such as business working environment, theaters and conference halls.

NoraSens technologies enable creation of the miniature significantly cost-effective sensor products, easy to use and integrate.

NoraSens technology facilitates the complete range of sensors products of 4 x 2 x 1 cm size or smaller, including integrated RF front end, signal processing entity utilizing dedicated IP cores analyzing heartbeat and respiratory dynamics, support circuitry, automotive interfaces as well as specific planar high-gain antennas.

  • Detection of a human on a seat, with differentiation of a human from an object (replacement or enhancement of the seat pressure sensors)

Parking Sensor Application

NoraSens technology can be used for the new generation of smart sensors in automotive & transportation area, as parking support, replacing many other applications, such as ultrasound-based sensor systems. In contrast to the ultrasound system, NoraSens technology allows for full integration of the sensor behind a bumper, making it invisible, with longer range at the similar cost.

Industrial and Assistive Robot Application

NoraSens technology can be used for the new generation of smart sensors enhancing the safety aspects for industrial robots, collaborative robots and in the future low cost assistive robots.

Industry 4.0 has been an emerging trend in recent years featuring and emphasizing the smart functions in the manufacturing processes. Such a trend has significantly effected industrial robotics changing them from standalone non-intelligent machinery performing the simple tasks to a very intelligent, complex machine, being able to interact with humans in a shared workspace. This interaction between humans and robots has raised safety concerns – how to prevent machines from harming the humans and to avoid injuries. These concerns have also been articulated in safety standards and respective EU regulations.

Placed on a robot itself, a sensor monitors the robot’s surroundings looking for the intrusion presence 5 meters upfront. Sensor will be equipped with the collision avoidance algorithms, or safety protocols, compatible with safety regulations and industrial robotics industry. Sensor will be aware of intrusions in the shared or restricted areas and will initialize fast stop of the operation or will continue operation in a safe trajectory operation mode, by applying dedicated collision avoidance techniques.

Visual Impairments Support Application

NoraSens technology can be used in a new generation of smart sensors helping the visually impaired people with the radar sensor-based support.

NoraSens technology enables creation of the miniature significantly cost-effective sensor products, easy to use and integrate. This visual support system will be affordable and at least 10 times cheaper than the existing ultrasound systems used for similar purposes.

  • A user wearable visual assistance solution.
  • The apparatus and method of operation for providing specific solution for object detection and object behavior detection using mm-Wave radar approach, where the information about environment is presented by audio signal.
  • The apparatus is embedded in spectacles for persons with visual impairments. The usage of the integrated mm-Wave ISM Band 60 GHz front end, combined with the low cost printed high gain antenna with specifically advantageously proposed radiation diagram, adequate base band processing, and dedicated audio signal generation, provides a major solution advantage for people giving them a light and affordable help in their everyday lives.
